Technical Support Engineer

512 Hosting, a compact web hosting enterprise, Despite our modest team size, we are undergoing rapid expansion that has garnered great affection from our clientele.

We are currently seeking an individual well-versed in advanced cPanel/WHM server administration encompassing both user interface (UI) and command-line interface (CLI) operations. Proficiency in CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, and Imunify360 is also highly desirable.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the web hosting industry.
  • Proficient in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Profound familiarity with cPanel, including troubleshooting errors.
  • Possess up-to-date cPanel University certifications.
  • Skilled in SSH usage and command-line operations.
  • Capable of interpreting email content and weblogs effectively.
  • Knowledgeable about Mod_Security, PHP applications, Web Errors, Email Errors, CSF, CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, Nginx, Apache, Imunify360, and MailChannels.
  • Demonstrates patience and persistence when providing technical support to non-technical users through ticketing system.

Sr. Engineer / Remote

We’re seeking an Engineer who can strategically steer our expansion efforts, enhancing our platform and driving growth in the right directions. This is a chance to join the early stages of a burgeoning company in an industry poised for exponential expansion over the next decade.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with 512 Hosting leadership to strategize and approach specific challenges or opportunities with optimal efficiency.
  • Devising effective methods to enhance conversion rates and drive revenue for the business.
    Guiding the implementation and management of projects executed by external designers or developers when necessary.
  • Establishing a solid foundation for the expansion of our engineering department.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in programming languages including PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Previous exposure to WHMCS is a significant advantage.
  • Mastery of development tools such as Git, Linux command line, shell scripting, unit testing, bug tracking workflows, and IDEs.
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas: Web Servers (e.g., Apache, LiteSpeed), Mail Servers (e.g., Exim, Sendmail), DNS Servers (e.g., BIND), and Linux Filesystems.
  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively articulating challenges, estimated timelines, and progress updates.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five years of experience in troubleshooting Linux/*nix systems or a relevant certification (RHCE).
  • Between five to ten years of experience in software development.
